PRODUCTION

This wine was specially made for Gaucho. We traveled to Finca La Anita with Phil Crozier (Gaucho's buyer at the time, now Wines of Argentina's brand ambassador) in 2015 and he selected the wines to use in the blend. I still have my notes from that tasting, in which we tasted wines from several barrels in process of ageing, and other number of wines from the tanks (prior to ageing). Phil's final selection was: 45% of Malbec from barrique 1 + 45% Malbec from barrique 2 + 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from Tank 9 + 5% Petit Verdot from Tank 5.

Once this was decided, the wine was made in the commissioned proportions and aged in oak barrels for another 8 months. Hence the name Impredecible (Unpredictable). We had tried the wine then and there, but it would become something else after 8 months. The result was well worth the wait!
