LABORUM Tannat Single Vineyard 2015
Cafayate Valley, Salta, Argentina
Intense red ruby with black and violet tonalities. Red mature fruits with spicy notes of eucaliptus, figs and mentol. Chocolate and vanilla aroma from the french oak barrels. Intense and sweet entry due to the mature and firm tannins
Medium and high entry with a naturally balanced acidity. Long finish.
With its structure its a wine that can be stored for 12 years
Having lived in Argentina and knowing very well the wines of El Porvenir - I was disappointed with the Tannat, which I have never seen in Argentina as the variety is associated with Uruguay. The price of £19 reflects the lower quality as Laborum Malbec and Cab Sauv are selling for £25+.
Definitely best wine I tasted in 2020. And with Covid in town I have tried a lot of different wines!. Classic southamerican - rich - peppery but somehow mature. Best wine under £20 i have tried in a long time
