The Grifoll family have been cultivating grapes since 1736. They bought their first vineyards in 1880, started work for the local co-operative in El Molar in 1954 and by 1989 were selling grapes to Alvaro Palacios. In 2001, the first Grifoll Declara wine was bottled.
